As we approach the end of the first half of 2024, we want to get you updated on some amazing news. You have probably seen it or have noticed that our RC track has been under maintenance quite often. Here is your LMCC recap (photos down below).

First of all, in the name of LMCC, we would like to thank all volunteers and members that are always present when helping hands are needed. Without you, we would not be able to operate this beautiful RC track in the heart of Luxembourg.

Beginning of January, there was a strategic change in our committee of the club, bringing in new faces, new ideas and a lot of motivation. Luxembourg has been voted to host the 2025 EFRA European Championship in 1:5 Large Scale Touring Car, therefore we will automatically host the EFRA Grand Prix next month on the 22nd and 23rd of June as a Warm-Up Race for next year's big race. Additionally, to our Large-Scale class, we will host one round of the Race Car Series which has gained quite popularity in recent years among RC Large Scale drivers. In terms of 1:10 scale RC Racing such as Touring Car, Front Wheel Drive and Formula Class, where we have the most racers, we are very happy that the Euro Touring Series (ETS) will be hosted at our beautiful RC track beginning of September. A series that has existed already over a decade, and usually brings together over 150 up to 300 RC drivers all around the world to compete in 6 different categories. For sure the most competitive but also the most fun RC events that you can race in. Other races such as the National Championship organized by the RCCM Club in the month of July and a friendly race organized by the FLAMRC Federation usually in September. With a busy schedule ahead of us, we were convinced that our track needed some refreshment work.

To comply with some EFRA regulations, we had to reactivate our second timing loop in our track. With that we found that it was time to clean up our timekeeping container and update some of our technology. Our next step was the driver stand, because at an EFRA race there will be a race director, a national referee, an international referee, a commentator, or at the ETS, even a Media team. Therefore, we came to conclusions to expand our driver stand. Today after expansion, 16 drivers have the possibility to race at the same time, and the infrastructure is able to hold all staff that is needed for any race event.

The pit area has gotten a refresher as well. Besides our concrete high-top tables that can fit 8 drivers per table, our wooden beer garden table sets have been sanded and repainted with a grey color.

Next to our toolbox container that contains the air compressor, we have removed a container which now gives us more room in the parking/camping area.

Our clubhouse has been completely refurbished, and we are able to seat 50 people, as we saw in our last BBQ Event, bringing our clubhouse back alive! Thank you to all members, friends and sponsors that were able to attend this amazing event.

Regarding the track itself, in late 2023, the track has been treated by a special spherical steel irradiation process, which in simple terms "cleans" the upper surface of the asphalt and makes it more porous. The RC track has been brushed off any dirt and dust and has been water pressure washed a couple of times. If you have not seen it yet, there is fresh paint on all the lines and curbs! The curbs are no longer painted in traditional white and red format, but in red, white and light blue colors.

With the track being perfectly ready for the upcoming races, we simply cannot wait to see you racing at our track. Do not hesitate to approach us at the track for any suggestions or just simply having a chat :)
